Infrastructure upgradation in State Universities under RUSA
Creation of Infrastructure for two cluster universities at Srinagar and Jammu and work in progress.Rs 40 Crore each was approved for up-gradation of infrastructure of University of Jammu and University of Kashmir, out of which Rs. 15 crore was released to each of these universities for infrastructure such as Construction of Girls hostel, Purchase of books, Sports equipments, upgradation of Laboratories, Libraries, academic building, administrative blocks, canteens, toilets and computer centers etc.
New Hostel for girl students
Under PMDP, Rs.50 Crore has been allocated for construction of girls hostels in 07 degree colleges of the state, Girls hostels have been approved for GDC Paloura, GDC Thathri, GDC Rajouri, GDC Bemina, GCW Kupwara, GCW Pulwama, GDC Kargil/Leh.
Special Package for Flood-hit colleges
Rs.50 Crore has been provided under Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) for restoration of Degree Colleges at Bijbehara, Amar Singh College, Srinagar, S.P. College, Srinagar, GDC Bemina, College of Education, Srinagar, GDC Anantnag and GCW Anantnag
Development of new Degree college
Construction work of 28 college buildings is underway in the department at an estimated cost of Rs. 311.68 crore. Construction work of 28 additional blocks including auditoriums, lecture halls, laboratories, libraries, etc is underway in various existing degree colleges at an estimated cost of 131.45 crore.
RUSA Engineering colleges at Safapora and Kathua
Foundation work of Administrative block of Engineering college at Kathua completed. Plinth of Academic block and foundation work of Library block at Safapora completed
Model Colleges
Upgradation work of 3 colleges at Ganderbal, Shopian, and Samba in progress .
Construction of boundary wall of the land for IIT, Jammu at Jagti in progress.
Upcoming RUSA building in GGM Science College
Indoor Stadium sports complex swimming pool canteen Women hostel department of P.G Mathematics BBA and BCA blocks and the cluster University under RUSA in the final stage of completion at Govt. M.A.M College Jammu.
02 Smart classrooms at GDC Doda
Construction of Academic block, toilet block, Library, science laboratories under Prime Minister Development Package (TAMEER) for the flood affected degree college at GDC Anantnag.
